10 Pounder

So, it's been a couple weeks since we last posted, but Evie had her one-month checkup yesterday and we've officially got a 10 pounder on our hands! (Full disclosure - I did not attend the one-month checkup, but got the post appointment recap from Stacey). Apparently the doctors are thrilled with her continued weight gain and everything checked out well. She was even a big girl and did well with her shots too!

Evie then proceeded to celebrate joining the 10 pound club by eating approximately every 30 minutes last night! As you can imagine, Stacey was pretty excited about that. She's been fussy at night when she gets dropped off in the crib, but continues to sleep well when she get to cuddle with mom or dad. As is typically the case, we're taking baby steps. (Not literally, figuratively)

Last night, we began trying to put her down around 8 p.m. after she ate, but she just wasn't having it. After another feeding, we finally seemed to have her settled by closer to nine. She took a catnap on my chest for about 90 minutes, but was up and ready to eat again around 10:45. That cycle continued for much of the night until she finally got a decent sleep around 7:00 a.m.. So this is why everyone said we (moreso Stacey thus far) should get used to the lack of sleep...

At any rate, this weekend brings new adventures. We're hoping to pay Grandpa Ed a visit back home and try to cheer he and his new knee up. Grandpa is two days post-op at this point, so we figure Evie and a late Father's Day gift could help ease the pain. Also, we're thinking we may see some of the old Clarksville contingent for a quick visit.

We promise to post some new pics soon too. I'm just being lazy right now... something about this lack of sleep...

  1. Sleep deprivation is tough. Every stage is temporary though. It's difficult to remember that while you're in the middle of it, but it's true. No matter how frustrating or exhausting, it's temporary and before you know it, you'll be getting a good stretch of sleep and feel like a new person.
